Fondazione per Leggere, donates a book to Ukrainian children in Italy

Foundation for Reading of Abbiategrasso (MI) operates in Italy in the south-west area of ​​Milan and after the outbreak of Russia's terrifying war of aggression against Ukraine it began to promote a wonderful initiative to support refugee children in Italy.

Since February 24, 2022, many families with children have found shelter in Italy and Fondazione per Leggere through its project "Support Reading” has started a fundraiser to increase the number of Ukrainian books available in libraries. Libraries themselves have become a reference point for many Ukrainian families, a safe environment where they can spend time in such a difficult and uncertain period.

By making a donation, many Ukrainian children will be able to access many more titles in the Ukrainian language and feel less alone. It is a demonstration of closeness to those who are suffering, a demonstration that with little we can do a lot for those who are experiencing a difficult situation.

Many children have had to flee from their homes in war zones and are now hosted by many generous Italian families or their Ukrainian relatives and friends in Italy. A book in Ukrainian can make a child feel less alone and less distant from the life he led until February 24, 2022.
