Ukraine and Israel, two fronts for the same war
The bloody attack by the Hamas terrorist group on Israel has forcefully brought back to our eyes the images of the first weeks of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Roads with dozens of cars destroyed at the edges of the road, people desperately fleeing from the invaders, bombed buildings. A feeling of terror. And then death. Hundreds of innocent victims and the possibility of soon having images of new Bucha or Irpin, this time within the Israeli state.
Ukraine and Israel, war on democracy
The fact that so far the victims are Ukraine and Israel are confirmation that the liveliness of their democracies in those geographical areas full of dictators, tsars, ayatollahs and sultans (so many different ways to express a single concept) put unlimited power at risk of those who don't even know what a political election is
The Hamas attack started from the Gaza Strip towards the cities of Israel (there is talk of five thousand rockets on the first day alone) it is not exclusively part of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as many self-styled analysts have been quick to declare, but it is evidently part of a larger plan war without borders on world democracies. The fact that so far the victims are Ukraine and Israel are confirmation that the liveliness of their democracies in those geographical areas full of dictators, tsars, ayatollahs and sultans (so many different ways to express a single concept) put unlimited power at risk of those who don't even know what a political election is.
Both Israel and Ukraine have given proof to the world that the development of a free country depends on free elections and that, despite imperfect electoral systems, in both countries the citizen is free to choose who will represent him in government and who will represent him in opposition . Clear proof of this are the five parliamentary elections that took place in Israel from 2019 to 2022 or the sensational electoral victory of Zelensky in Ukraine instead of the usual well-known faces who have always been in power in Kyiv.
The war in Israel is not just a regional conflict
The terrorist attack on Israel is not only the effect of the historical differences with the State of Palestine, which are however profound and difficult to eradicate with diplomacy (remember that the Gaza Strip is governed by Hamas which has in its founding statute the principle of the destruction of the state of Israel), but should be read in a broader perspective by reconnecting it with what has been happening in Ukraine since 24 February 2022.
I Hamas leaders are now at home in the Kremlin and in the last two years their appearances in the international criminal court putin they multiplied. We don't believe that they are just courtesy visits for a chat and a coffee. If we add the support of Iran (historical ally and military supplier of Russia which does not hide its happiness for what happened and openly shares with Hamas the desire to see Israel disappear from the face of the earth) to this unprecedented attack then the picture begins to outline.
Furthermore Russian interests in distracting the world's attention from its crimes in Ukraine are decidedly strong and it would not be so absurd to think that there is a plot orchestrated by Moscow in a desperate attempt to reduce Western aid to Kyiv to favor its historic Israeli ally.
Iran, Russia, Israel and Ukraine are only the first pieces of a puzzle that is taking shape and clarity step by step. They are the main actors in a war that has already crossed the borders of Ukraine.
The normalization of horror
As happened after a few weeks in Ukraine we noticed a cold and somewhat superficial response in the media and in general public opinion. No in-depth special, no awareness campaign. Only current news without seeking particular emphasis on what happened.
The massacres of Hamas butchers on defenseless people in Israel, the cold-blooded murders and the kidnapping of hundreds of boys at a party on the border with Gaza or the parallels with what was perpetrated by the Moscow army against innocent Ukrainian citizens have the flavor of something we have already seen and which has already bored us. The motivations behind these barbaric and reckless acts deserve no more than a few lines for the exclusive use of those few heroes who still read the newspapers or at least try to.
The theater of war has expanded, but it is still far away, we don't care, it's only a matter of days before it passes into the second page behind some autumnal political or entertainment gossip (and often the two things intersect).
Israel's war, let's clarify
The attacked is Israel, the aggressor is Hamas and anyone who does not condemn the violence and destruction that the actions of this terrorist group have brought
It would be important to clarify things right from the start, declare who is the attacked and who is the aggressor, do not fall into the mistake made with the tragedy in Ukraine where, as time passed, we gave more and more space to Russian propaganda and reversed the roles of these two nations.
The attacked is Israel, the aggressor is Hamas and anyone who does not condemn the violence and destruction that the actions of this terrorist group have brought. The calls for de-escalation or peace (let them silence their weapons immediately, good God, how naive) leave room for support for Israel and its right to defend itself and attack to eliminate the threat. Otherwise, the danger is that of a revival of anti-Zionist Nazism in the 2000s version, where the Jewish people become the Nazis and the Islamic terrorists of Hamas the victims of serious historical injustices.
Let's say it clearly: we don't deal with terrorists, mainly because they don't want to do it. You cannot negotiate with Hamas, you cannot negotiate with the Russian massacres. Let us not yet make the mistake of confusing which side of history is the right one and let us stand in defense of our freedom.
